Introduction to LiveBandwidth LiveBandWidth is a unique application which has been designed as an immediate solution for Web Hosting Companies, ISP's and for the owners of web servers who are faced with uncertainty in respect to traffic through their servers. Given the existing situation, some 90% of the internet-server owners (Window-based), are unaware of the bandwidth which is utilized by web sites hosted on their servers. This situation could cause substantial financial losses, deriving from the utilization of excess bandwidth by one or more of the web sites which are hosted by the server. In such a case, a specific web site may take up a bandwidth which could easily have satisfied dozens of sites, extreme cases of slowdown are caused on the server with a potential for system instability. The LiveBandWidth system enables a system administrators to easily identify sites which utilize the bandwidth of the server for their individual use in a monopolizing manner, for which added payment could be applied in view of excessive use. The system will thus enable hosting companies to identify web sites as consumers of substantial system resources. It could well be found, as a result, that your server is hosting users allowing the downloading of pornographic material, illegal software, or large-volume audio and video files. LiveBandWidth will help to keep your system clean of such illegal material. In addition, the LiveBandWidth system provides an ability to delete old log files, which, over time, may occupy the full capacity of your hard disc. LiveBandWidth operations are fully automatic. The software reads, nightly, data from the Metabase, and pulls the list of domains which exist on the IIS. A read is then executed of all log files of the domains defined on IIS, and the resultant data is then recorded to the system database. Using a web-based interface, the system administrator may then view, at any time, graphic status data of the bandwidth being utilized by the server, providing a general overview, and for each individual domain on the system specifically. The system administrator can then call for daily, monthly and annual reports - at server level and at single domain level. In addition, tools are available to the system administrator allowing a definition of days to keep log files, after which time such logs will be deleted, for each domain individually, and the setting of username and password, through which a site administrator may view and track the utilization of bandwidth at his site. LiveBandWidth was developed by LiveDns Ltd., in response to the problem of supervising the traffic of internet sites which are hosted on our servers. In view of the fact that such a system is not available on the internet, and without such a system hosting companies operate "blindly" without knowledge of the bandwidth utilized by the web sites being hosted, LiveDns took an executive decision, and over a period of one year, after an in-depth study by the company's experience engineers, completed the development of the system. The system is now offered for sale as an additional off-the-shelf product from the LiveDns software house. LiveBandWidth will save you money! The cost of the system will be returned immediately, as after purchase of the system and its installation on your server, you may be surprised to see that some web sites have managed to take over a bandwidth which is substantially higher than that which was allocated when the hosting package was originally purchased. In such case, you may immediately bill such user for the excess utilization of bandwidth. System Requirements Hardware: No special requirements for hardware.
